Walton Oaks, UK – 19 May 2021 – New research by VIAGRA connect released today reveals that 72% of men in the UK aged 25-34 are planning to visit a pharmacy to stock up on sexual health products in preparation for a post lockdown summer of love.[i] Additionally, this applies to almost three quarters (74%) of respondents who experience erection problems (EPs).i

The survey also found that almost half (43%) of men aged 25-34 and 22% of all adults expect to have more sex this summer than they did throughout lockdown.i

Rob Elliott, Marketing Director, Viatris, comments: “Pharmacists can expect an increase in footfall, and prepare in advance to ensure sexual health categories are well stocked, and ensure staff feel confident to advise consumers across an array of different sexual health needs, including advice around erection problems. Viagra Connect with its wealth of information and training materials for Pharmacy staff will enable them to provide advice for the estimated 5 million men in the UK suffering from EPs. The new trial size 2 pack is ideal for those sufferers wanting to try the original and trusted EP treatment, making it easier for men and their partners to re-connect this summer.”

To further support this anticipated uplift in footfall in-store, VIAGRA connect is launching an impactful £multi-million consumer campaign which will run from July to September, including mainstream TV, VOD, OOH and digital and social advertising, featuring the award-winning ‘Love Story’ creative. The campaign will be further supported by a suite of shopper marketing materials including window posters and FSDUs.

The TV commercial will feature the new VIAGRA connect trial size two pack, which is aimed at the millions of men who are reluctant to try an erection problem treatmentiii. The two pack has all the reassurance of the iconic and trusted Viagra brand at an acceptable trial price. With current research showing that it can take some men up to two years before they seek help for their EPsiv, VIAGRA connect hopes that the campaign will encourage men to visit their pharmacies and seek help sooner rather than later.
