Alliance Healthcare in the UK has partnered with Vitamin Angels – a global public health organization that provides life-changing vitamins and minerals to mothers and children under five at risk of malnutrition, to reduce preventable illness, blindness and death.

Since its origin, the charity has reached over 175 million children and mums around the world. Its new UK feeding programme is fighting malnutrition by promoting healthy eating habits for children in need. Participating nurseries get to self-select a variety of fruits, vegetables, and high-protein food items at no cost to the nursery or to the families. Alliance Healthcare UK will be supporting both the global and national feeding programmes.

Committed to helping people across the world lead healthier and happier lives, Alliance Healthcare has entered into a long-term partnership with Vitamin Angels, as it looks to organise a number of exciting fundraising activities across its UK employee base, working with sponsors across the healthcare industry to raise much needed funds for this important cause.

Speaking of the charitable partnership, Julian Mount, Managing Director at Alliance Healthcare UK said: “I am so proud to see my team come together and support this truly amazing public health organization. It is a clear demonstration of how much we care and can really make a difference. This is a really exciting milestone for our business and we hope to raise £60,000 for Vitamin Angels this year and going forward!”

Scott Minger, Vice President Business Development, Vitamin Angels attended the official partnership launch event earlier in April and said: “It’s fantastic to see the start of our partnership with Alliance Healthcare UK already make a significant impact on the lives of at-risk children in the UK. The Alliance Healthcare team has an amazing fundraising spirit and we’re delighted to now be a recognised as a long-term partner. Vitamin Angels has already been working with a part of the Walgreens Boots Alliance organization in America since 2013 and has since reached over 250 million children around the world through that partnership.”

To mark the special occasion, Julian Mount welcomed colleagues and representatives from the charity to the official launch event. Katelyn Harbison, Account Manager, Vitamin Angels added: “ With one in four children in the UK at risk for malnutrition, Vitamin Angels is thrilled to partner with Alliance Healthcare to introduce the UK feeding programme. Together we can change the lives of many malnourished children in the UK.”
